New Electric Battery Augments EV Range by 35%

One of the main impediments to wide scale electric vehicle (EV) usage is the perceived short range of the vehicles, but new technologies are helping change this.

EV battery developer, Axeon, says it has developed a device that will boost car driving ranges by some 35%, without increasing the weight of the battery.

The company says that Nickel Cobalt Manganese (NCM) electrochemistry technology enables a decrease in both mass and volume of the battery allowing for a more powerful unit in the same size as current ones.

Axeon is currently in advanced negotiations with Allied Vehicles, to commercialize the technology.
